Want to host a house show?

WHY A HOUSE SHOW?
House shows are without a doubt my favorite way to share (and hear) music. They're the perfect blend of craft-centered professionalism and guards-down intimacy, waving away the trappings of a usual concert - bright lights, loud volume, large scale - and instead embracing and amplifying the inherent vulnerability of music and storytelling.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you've never hosted a concert in your house before, now's the perfect time to plan the first one. Pick a day, clear the space, and invite everyone you think would enjoy it. I'll show up, set up, and then share songs and stories for an hour and a half. Beyond that, the logistics are few and less important to me: travel, pay, and lodging.

DOES IT HAVE TO BE IN A HOUSE?

Nope. Whatever space you’ve got; I’ve played in churches, barns, and even on a soccer field (I prefer to play indoors, but it’s easy to convince me otherwise).

WHAT'S IN IT FOR THE HOST?

A valid question. If you're looking for life-changing monetary value, then a house show is unlikely to meet your expectations. You're free to sell tickets to recoup the cost, and you might end up making some money. But that's secondary; what you'll really receive is a fun, meaningful night, an excuse to gather with your friends and family around good art, and the privilege of losing to me in whatever table sport you have in your house.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

“Money is the root of all kinds of awkwardness.” - St. Paul, translated by me. My asking price is $800 plus travel costs. If your budget is higher, then forget I said that. But if you're worried about finances, name your price (you're probably a better negotiator than me). I promise my desire to play for you outweighs my desire to make a certain amount of money.

WHERE WILL YOU STAY?

If you have a Spare Oom, an air mattress, or a couch longer than 6 ft 2 inches, then I'd love to stay with you if you'll have me. Otherwise, I might have to ask for you to provide an AirBnb, hotel, or friend's house.
